Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a rare but serious risk associated with hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

The study provides more information for clinicians and women about relative VTE risks and highlights that transdermal HRT is the preferred choice over other forms of treatment with no associated VTE risks.
