Professor Barbara Ryan – Consultant Gastroenterologist

Consultant Gastroenterologist at Tallaght University Hospital and the Hermitage Medical Clinic, Dublin and a Clinical Professor of
Gastroenterology at Trinity College, Dublin.

She has been working as a gastroenterologist for 25 years and has worked in Ireland, the UK, Germany and The Netherlands.

Professor Ryan was National Specialty Director for Training in Gastroenterology in Ireland for four years, and has served on a number of advisory boards and  committees within the field of gastroenterology and endoscopy, both nationally and internationally.

She has over 100 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and more than 300 abstracts presented at scientific meetings. She has also written articles for women’s magazines, for health supplements in national newspapers and has appeared on national TV and radio.

She is co-founder of The Gut Experts, a female-focused gut health education platform and co-author of the soon to be published, What Every Woman Needs to Know About Her Gut.
