Women’s Mental Health Webinars: Menopause – A neglected factor influencing Women’s Mental Health

We are thrilled to announce our friends at Mehlowa are hosting a series of webinars to improve professional development in women’s health for psychiatrists and trainees across Europe.

Their first webinar, held under the patronage of the European Psychiatric Association, will focus on menopause as a contributing factor to women’s mental health struggles.

The session will take place on Thursday 10th March 1pm – 2pm and be delivered by Professor Anita Riecher-Roessler, from the University of Basel, Switzerland. Prof. Anita Riecher- Roessler is an outstanding clinical scientist and dedicated clinician who has made major contributions to the understanding and treatment of psychiatric disorders in women.

This webinar will address the following key questions:

  • What kind of mental health and psychological symptoms and disorders show an increased incidence around the menopause?
  • And is this increase incidence just due to hormones?
  • How should we consider the perimenopause and menopause in the management of psychiatric patients?
